I just wanted to clarify my most recent posting. For those of you who read both Carissa's and my own blog, I was in no way sending a message to Carissa or condemning her for her statement on the weather. Carissa, I apologize for the way it sounded and would like to explain a little more.
I have always had the opinion that if a person does not like where they are then they should do something to change it. This is often hard to do, but none the less important.
For example: When we were all going to Union, one of my biggest pet peeves was when people complained about the cerfew in the dorm, the lack of meat in the lunch room, or the rediculous requirements for Bible classes or worship credits. For the life of me, I did not understand, nor do I now, why those same complainers still went to Union. You chose to go to school there! Deal with it! If you don't like the requirements of the school, go to a different one! I just don't get it. There are plenty of schools in the country. Perfectly good, top notch public universities that offer a wonderful education. If you don't like Union, then leave. Go somewhere else, even UNL instead of dampening the atmosphere with your complaining. Simple as that. And then people say, "Well I have to" or "my parents are making me." Please. If you're going to use the "I'm 18 so I don't need a curfew because I'm an adult and can do whatever I want" argument then put your money where your mouth is and tell your parents that.
I suppose I'm being overly critical. I'm very much the pleaser and have been known to do my fair share of complaining. I suppose it's like people complaining about their jobs, but working there for 50 years until they retire. Life's not as easy as we'd like it to be.
Anyway, I'm sorry to Carissa for making my last blog sound like an attack. It was in no way directed at you. I love you and I know you like blogging about the weather here. It is interesting conversation. So please forgive my rampaging and my tree stumping.
Nuf sed.
