Easter and Interviews

I like Easter at the Olson's. When I was little we always went to my grandma and grandpa's house in Langdon and went to church on Sunday with them and had a big easter dinner. Grandma would always buy me an easter dress with a cute little white or pink hat and I would have a new easter outfit. It was fun. But then they started going south for the winter and didn't come back until after easter, so it's been quite a few years since we've had that. But this year we did again and it was great. My grandpa was sick with cancer last fall and died this winter, so they didn't go south and grandma was home. She was alone so I went to her house and stayed with her Friday night through Sunday afternoon. It was fun. Kinda boring but mostly fun. We went on walks, played scrabble, cooked, and just hung out. Then some of the family came over on Easter after we had gone to church and it was so great. We had lots of food and lots of people. I loved it. Being an only child, I LOVE big family gatherings. I just think they're so much fun. So that was good.

Then I didn't have school or work yesterday so I went shopping for an interview outfit for today. Today I interviewed with 12 schools for the Resident Teacher program. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a program where I work as a special education teacher in a school under the direction of a mentor. I go to school in the evening and work full time at a school in the daytime. They pay for the tuition and give a stipend, plus it's a great experience anyway. The "on the job" training is great. So anyway, I got in the program and today was the interview day for the schools to get to know the candidates and possibly pick on that they might want to work with. I find out next Tuesday where I'm placed. I really hope I get in at an elementary school that I've subbed at a couple different times. I need to broaden my professional horizons so that I really am qualified to work at an elementary school level if need be. It was a long morning. 15 minutes at each school with a 5 minute break in between. 12 schools. Long morning. But it went well and I look forward to working with some of them.

Other than that not much else is new. I can't wait until this summer cuz we're gonna go on some fun trips and do some fun things. It'll be fun. Well I'm going to go register for classes now.
