Big Days in the Kleven House

We've had a big couple of days. We're furniture shopping and job shopping. Mostly me of the former, and only Justin of the latter. Later? Latter? Latter I think. Anyway, so far we've ended up with a new couch and two beautiful recliners. Still on the list is a TV stand and maybe some sort of free-standing cupboard or something for a space on the wall of our kitchen. It may seem like a lot of buying, but for those of you who have never had the pleasure of enjoying our furniture, it is seriously icky. Ugly, old, and frankly, nasty. So yay new furniture for our new apartment in our new city and new life! wow.

In yet other new news, we got a new computer. Yesterday morning I awoke to the blue screen of death, as I've heard it called. At the top of the screen it said "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer." Then a bunch of jibberish. Then-this was the "uh-oh" part-it said, "Beginning dump of physical memory!" Now I don't know what that exactly means, but essentially the computer said in no uncertain terms that it was finished and we might as well bite the bullet and buy a new one or go without. And of course, being the mis-prioritized Americans that we are, we promptly went out and bought a new one. It's very pretty. We like it.

So, big day. We did get to take the computer home yesterday, but we don't get our new furniture until next week. :( Patience is overrated.

It's thunder-storming here and I love it. I love summer thunder storms. It's not a big crash-boom one where the lightening splits the air with an ear numbing crash, but it's one of those ones where the rolling thunder just lazily bounces off clouds and buildings and seems to wrap you in a sort of melancholy lullaby. It's all dark and gray and mysterious outside and it's all dark and cool and cozy inside. I love it.

OK, I must get back to holding down the couch and keeping the remote from getting lost. Another big day awaits.
