In Between
On Friday I spent longer than necessary in front of my closet and went to work in disgust. I was officially out of shirts. It was the first 5 day work week of the year, and I was out of shirts. Though I wanted to tell my boss that I'd just have to take Mondays off all year to accommodate for my limited wardrobe, a shopping trip sounded like a somewhat better idea. I'd say a good 90% of my shirts are no longer suitable for baby bump. I was lookin' good, happy with my clothing, and finally at a point where I didn't feel the need to go school shopping for new outfits to start off a new year. I was good. Was. Within a matter of weeks I've moved into an in-between stage in which none of my old clothes fit, and maternity clothes are rediculously large. One just does not realize the dynamics that this business is going to entail. Pants can be "fixed" with a hair tie or a belt. However, shirts are less forgiving. Shopping is usually fun if I'm in the right mood, but this is a not nice stage we're dealing with here people. Finally I quit trying to find things that would last me well into maternity and moved on to things that will fit me now, and more than likely for a few months enough to make the money spent a worthwhile endeavor. Thank goodness for the current style in which anyone can be mistaken for pregnant at any given moment. Usually I'm not a trendy person and try to stay away from things that will be outdated in 6 months, but this is one bandwagon that I'm jumping on and riding to the end. What a perk that I get to be fashionable in the process!
