A fib

I told a fib. I'm still not a mom, and here I am posting. The IV is getting in the way of typing, though, which is annoying. We went to the hospital at around 9:00 this morning and by the first hour of "real" contractions when I was a measly 1 cm dilated, I had signed my life away for an epidural. First I asked for Stadol, a narcotic administered through the IV. That was forever in coming, so by the next check around 11:30 my nurse said I could have an epidural if I wanted one, and I said "yes, please." Around noon-ish the anesthetist came and administered it and miracles happened. I relaxed. I warmed up. Contractions? What contractions? Apparently I'm still having them, which is excellent. The best part is that my personality came back! I felt like me again. And still do. I don't know who the crazy lady was that tried to convince me not to get an epidural, (me) but I gotta say-she was WAY off the mark on this one. The doctor came around 12:30 and broke my water, and the last check at around 2:00 revealed a whopping 6 cm! I know there's still a lot ahead of me, but so far things are going way better than they started. Thank you all SO MUCH for your continued prayers. God has been so good and I know that He will continue to watch over the process. I'll try to keep you updated, if possible. If not you can check back tomorrow for the big announcement and name revelation. :)

Meggy, I can't believe you're blogging while you're in labor, but I love reading it! Can't wait to read the announcement tomorrow. Epidurals really are magic, aren't they?
