Man I was going to do so well with updates and posting and such, but just like my contractions a week ago, I've seriously fizzled. Well what really happened is that there's so much to do at work that I've been on "Operation Get Things Done Before Baby Comes" for two weeks. I've been at work every day from 7:30 until 4:30 instead of 8:20 to 3:50. It's made a difference, and with last week's contraction scare prompting me to finish my sub plans, I'm completely caught up at work. Things are planned, any paperwork that I can have done on my students is done; I'm down to leaving sticky notes by the day for my sub. It's great. I'm still going early so that I can conquer anything that comes up, but for the most part I feel like I've really accomplished a lot this fall.
Baby's still hanging tight but kind of kicking my butt. And tummy, and side, and bladder. I get super wiped out by the end of the day and if I overdo it, I really start to feel awful. Justin has been AMAZING though and does practically everything around the house and with Elaina. I feel as though I've been providing such a disservice to Elaina, but she seems to be OK and between Justin and I she's fine. I'm just not able to be the mommy I want to be.
We did the birth plan today and was asked what I wanted for pain management, to which I unhesitatingly answered, "I'll take an epidural please." I do have nagging feelings of ending up partially paralyzed or having spinal headaches, but based on the last experience, I'm somewhat willing to risk it. Everything is ready at home and I'm ready for things to go, so we'll see. Boy I feel big. I really was bigger with Elaina, but with this one I feel more exhuasted. It takes so little for me to become keenly aware of my need to sit down and rest. It's quite bothersome.
So that's the update! I'll try to stay somewhat regular as it gets closer.
