Bring it on, Baby!

Update of my last couple of weeks:

Before school started I went to MN to the lake with my aunt and uncle and cousins. It was a blast! Mom and I went and when we got there we immediately had to get on the water. So first I tubed with my cousin, and then my mom wanted to go. It was a HOOT!! Oh man I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. She's so funny. For those of you who know my mother, imagine her on a big tube with me, bouncing around like crazy, screaming, and laughing so hard we could hardly hang on anymore. Oh man. Guess you had to be there. Hillarious. Then, I went skiing. I have never been able to get up on skiis, but my uncle was positive that I could get up. So on the second try, sure enough. Got up. Ski-ed outside of the wake, back and forth, it was cool. By the next day I was ready to tackle slalom skiing. I tried a couple times to get up on just one with little success. But then I dropped a ski, and it only took me 3 times to get it. I was off! In and out of the wake, cutting, all kinds of stuff. It was awesome. I should mention that my victories were made especially meaningful by my cousin's super competitive boyfriend. I outski-ed him in every event. Shoulda got a medal.

Last week started orientation for my job. I'll be an 8th grade special ed teacher, and I'm stoked. The two ladies that I'm working with (in the same room) are so cool. They have the greatest attitudes and it's awesome. The school is great and I think it will be a good year. The work should be enjoyable, filled with the good kind of stress. The kind that keeps you motivated, but sometimes makes you crazy. It really just makes you see how far you've come and how capable you really are. With God's help, of course, it is quite amazing to see and be a part of.

This week is more inservice for two days. Tuesday night classes at UND start, so my evenings will again be held hostage by this thing called school. But soon I'll be done! I'm staring down the barrel and the light is in sight. Yay! Then Wednesday work school starts. I'm a little nervous, but everyone is on the first day of school. Especially the kids. So it should be fun.

That's about it I guess. Kristen and Nathan were here this weekend and that was fun. We hung out, saw Miami Vice, (not as bad as I expected), and went out to eat. It was cool. Nothing today. It's my last day without many responsibilities. It's really great. I do have a little organizing and fun stuff to do, but that'll be ok. Alright then, that's all. See ya!
