For my girls out there who care about such things as nursery decorations and such, here are Baby's crib and bedding set. The theme is Noah's Ark. I searched high and low for a set that I liked, and found one at K-Mart for a relatively good price! This was a long time ago. The Harvey church threw me a baby shower with a Noah's Ark theme as well, but I'll post about that another time. Sooner rather than later. Sorry for slacking. I had big aspirations to do some posting over Christmas and it just didn't happen. I'm on my way now, though.

The Quilt-some is flannel, some is corduroy, some is cotton-it's got a bunch of different textures and they're all really soft.

The sheet and bumper pad. They say you're not supposed to have a bumper pad on cribs because of the risk of SIDS and such. But then why do they sell them? I don't get it. Do you know of cribs with bumper pads in which the children slept and survived? I'm on the fence about it but I certainly don't want to endanger Baby just for the sake of a cute crib accessory. Kristi? Input?

This is Baby's corner of the second bedroom. This second bedroom is the office/guest bedroom/nursery/storage/Justin's closet. One nice thing about not living in a house yet is that there's absolutly no pressure to have all furniture match perfectly and all spaces to be asthetically pleasing. It is what it is, people. That's OK though-Baby won't mind. When my parents had me they lived in student housing and my room was the closet--remember the apartment we lived in in Grand Forks? That closet by the bathroom that we used for storage? Mom and dad lived in a similar apartment and that closet was my nursery. Crib, boxes and all.

This was a few weeks ago, when I had 9 weeks left.

And here I am with 6 weeks to go! 5 1/2 now! That is not very long at all. I've been supressing the fears of the delivery and the aftermath and the responsibility of caring for an infant, but that's getting to be a more and more difficult task. When Baby was the size of a blueberry, no prob, Bob. Now that I'm carrying around a fair sized watermelon, it's a different story. But I won't go into detail about that. You're welcome.

Cute set-up!! And you're HUGE! :) In a good way, I promise. :) I'm so sad that I don't get to see you in person when you're this pregnant.
My sister-in-law didn't even let her baby sleep with blankets. She double and triple layered Jack's pjs so he would stay warm at night. This seems a little extreme, but I haven't done any research. Hmm.
Meg -
You look BEAUTIFUL! You are so close to the end. Thanks for posting; I loved seeing everything you have ready.
I couldn't do bumper pads. I tried some and maybe made it one night...that's all. I didn't care if it was a 1/1,000,000 chance - it was too high for a play-it-safer like me! The crib set was given to me a month of so after Abby's birth, though, so Abby was older and I actually worried about her somehow getting a loose tie and choking on it more than I worried about suffocation.
It's so good to see pictures! You have a wonderful little home to bring Baby back too! That blanket is SO cute!
So I'll throw something in just to mix it up a bit. :) Both my older nieces slept in cribs with bumper pads and survived and my littlest niece sleeps in a bassinet which is comparable since it's all fabric inside. Lace never had much worry over it because cribs are quite large for infants and when they are newborn they can't roll over by themselves anyways. Typically, you lay them in the center of the crib, so they won't go rolling to the sides when they are that young. So that was her point of few anyway.... Decisions, decisions! Bless you Meghan. You'll be a terrific mom!
