The most fun

Still pregnant.

I think yesterday was the most fun day in regard to references about my due date. It's so funny to see people's eyes widen and jaws drop as they asked when I am due and I smiled and said, "Today." I still giggle thinking about it. One student asked me, "Isn't today your due date?" She must have heard some teachers talking, or maybe I had told her before. "Yes, it sure is." Her hands went to her hips and she took on a scolding tone: "Then why aren't you in the hospital?" "Well, Baby's just not ready to come yet." She wasn't satisfied, but seeing there was nothing that she could do to convince me that I was wrong, and since I was an authority, being a teacher and all, off she went to the after school program. "See you Monday," I said.

The day before was fun too, because "tomorrow" gets a somewhat similar reaction. As does "yesterday." Today in church (and every day this week at work, for that matter) people shockingly exclaimed, "You're still here!" Yes, I'm still here. Still pregnant. Feeling fine, thank you. No, I don't know when Baby's coming. Yes, babies are on their own schedule. Yes, I'm sure Baby will come when she's ready. No, they won't let me go too long over. You were 8 days late with both your children? That's nice.

Same conversations. Every day, it seems.

We'll see what next week holds when I start telling people that last Friday was my due date. That's sure to raise a few eyebrows.

You know, you are going to have to deliver soner or later. She can't stay in there indefinately. You'll turn into siamese twins.
This lasse faire attitude of yours has caused me to put off packing my suitcase.
