Home Remedies

Thanks for all the encouragement from everyone! You're all right, of course. It will be fine and I will be fine and billions of women have given birth before me and been just fine. It's weird to think that in 3 more days I won't be pregnant anymore. The new trend in advice is suggesting home remedies for bringing on labor. Jeanna has mentioned Raspberry tea, and I've actually heard that from a few different people. It's on my grocery list for tonight. Also popular is going for a bumpy ride, or a brisk walk. To those two I say, good luck. If the normal bumps of driving that painfully jostle Baby against my bladder don't get things moving, I'm really not interested in intensifying that experience. Plus I don't even know where I'd go to do that anyway. As for walking--I'd hardly call how I'm getting around these days walking. It's more like waddling. And brisk is just out of the question. I'll stick with the tea. Maybe that'll work. Is two days the turnaround? So if I drink it tonight, I should start Saturday night. I'll do some research online about it. OK, well I'm at an all day conference today so I better get back to paying attention. Or doing something less conspicuous than typing. Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers. They are so much appreciated.

I'd drink two or three glasses a day. I personally started having mild contractions right after drinking it. Light contractions are good because they prepare you for the real deal. Hopefully by Saturday you will be in full blown labor. The tea does not work for everyone but we'll pray it works for you!!!

I also walked the day before Elijah was born. That helps a lot... I know it will be hard for you but they may make you do lots of walking in the hospital (unless you get the epidural right away). Going up and down stairs is another way to help, but it's hard when your 9 months. lol

Oh btw you may not find the actual leaf tea as that is brewed. However I used Bigelow real raspberry herb tea and it worked just fine. :)

I've heard spicy foods work. Kristi made a spicy pasta dish the evening that she started contractions. . .

Cariss, that's exactly what I told Meghan Sunday! Ya gotta spice it up. I don't know what all Eric dumped in, but I didn't sleep until the birth was over! :)
